What Makes This Certification Different

Professional-grade certification for instructors responsible for teaching Fourth Amendment law correctly, defensibly, and confidently.

This is not a patrol-level course. CSSI certifies your ability to teach search and seizure, articulate the law clearly, and withstand legal scrutiny.

Court-Defensible Instruction

Every concept is anchored in controlling case law — not instructor folklore.

Instructor-Focused

This program trains you how to teach search and seizure, not how to patrol.

Real-World Scenarios

Built around traffic stops, consent searches, warrants, and real exceptions officers actually encounter.

Teach-Back & Articulation

You will practice explaining the law clearly, accurately, and defensibly.

The Certified Search & Seizure Instructor (CSSI) program is an advanced instructor-level certification designed to ensure that those teaching Fourth Amendment law are doing so accurately, defensibly, and in line with current appellate and Supreme Court decisions.

CSSI graduates become their agency’s internal authority on search and seizure, capable of delivering briefings, training recruits and veterans, interpreting case law, and supporting administrative decision-making.
