You’ll learn how to find and use case law, the key rules that govern searches and seizures, and the questions that help you break down Fourth Amendment scenarios for your students.
This intense (but fun) five-day course provides the deep legal knowledge, instructional skill, and real-world application necessary to teach search and seizure topics with confidence.
Using the Blue to Gold teaching model, students learn how to break down complex case law so that officers can apply it correctly in the field.

The Certified Search & Seizure Instructor (CSSI) program is an advanced instructor-level certification designed to ensure that those teaching Fourth Amendment law are doing so accurately, defensibly, and in line with current appellate and Supreme Court decisions.
CSSI graduates become their agency’s internal authority on search and seizure, capable of delivering briefings, training recruits and veterans, interpreting case law, and supporting administrative decision-making.

Anthony Bandiero is an attorney and legal instructor who has trained thousands of law enforcement officers nationwide on search and seizure law. He has instructed agencies, conferences, and instructors across multiple states and is nationally recognized for court-defensible legal education.
This certification reflects the same standards used in his nationwide instruction.
John Wiehn, Senior Legal Instructor, is an attorney and experienced law enforcement trainer with Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training. He has spent more than a decade training officers nationwide, with a strong focus on constitutional law and its real world application. His background as a certified peace officer, combined with his legal education, allows him to teach case law in a way that directly supports officer safety and sound decision making in the field.
Zach Miller, Legal Instructor for Blue to Gold Law Enforcement Training, brings nearly two decades of experience in police training, policy development, and constitutional law instruction to his work with law enforcement agencies nationwide. He began his career as a police officer with the James City County Police Department in Virginia, where he served for almost nine years and regularly acted as an officer in charge, field training officer, and legal trainer. His early career also included drafting agency policies and providing testimony before the Virginia Senate and House of Delegates on proposed criminal justice legislation.
